affiliates The Affiliate Program is designed to develop more collaborative and long-lasting relationships with groups, departments, and organizations who share our mission and philosophy. We aim to connect with our affiliates and to provide them with resources around their social justice efforts. Some benefits of affiliating include priority room reservations, increased co-sponsorship funding opportunities, advertising through CCC media, and trainings from our Diversity Peer Educators.

The mission of APSA is to come together to provide a forum to deal with the problems and concerns of all UCSD Asian and Pacific-Islander (API) students, especially those deemed "under-represented" by the Student Affirmative Action Committee (SAAC)to try and create an environment where issues such as those political, educational, cultural, and social can be addressed; to increase awareness about our API history and heritage within the University and the community; to unite as a community resource to represent a common voice thereby empower ourselves; and to serve as a support network for building bonds and addressing differences between students.

The Black Student Union is charged with four fundamental responsibilities:
1. Programming to inspire, to enlighten, to build unity, to challenge, and to layout community outreach, political activism, and social unity.
2. To support the efforts of those organizations which perpetuate the ideologies of the Black Student Union.
3. To assist in providing an environment that is conducive for academic excellence amongst the Black student population.
4. To be accountable through representation to other organizations, the Associated Students of UCSD, the academic and administrative elements of the UCSD community and to the community at large.

HERO is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to educating the public about social and environmental issues. HERO provides opportunities for student involvement in the community and supports human rights and environmental sustainability. HERO believes that only by addressing factors that affect the entire world, rather than considering issues that only pertain to a separate group or nation, can there be a social change drastic enough to end human suffering and stop the destruction of our planet.

Kamalayan Kollective of UCSD is a political, non-profit organization, that seeks to raise consciousness and awareness on & about Pilipin@/American community issues, not only in San Diego, but also in the greater United States & the Philippines. It is our aim to provide an alternative, comfortable, and intimate space where we foster community and family amongst our brothers and sisters and other peoples. We aim to make connections with other students, staff, faculty, and community members in order to maintain an inclusive environment where we learn, teach, & grow from each other. We strongly believe that awareness begins with self first, and filters to an awareness about community, political, historical, & cultural issues. We seek to bridge Philippine-America with the Philippines.

Founded over forty years ago, the single Department of Literature gathers together a group of scholars, critics, and writers committed to research and debate on international and interdisciplinary issues surrounding the study of literature and culture. The organization of the Department of Literature is unique within the UC system in that it is neither a department of English nor a department of Comparative Literature as either is traditionally construed. Rather, from its beginning, the Literature Department at UCSD has aimed to be a department of world literatures and cultures within a single unit committed to the multilingual historical study of the connections and conflicts between cultures and society. This commitment includes the ambitious project of teaching and conducting research in Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Latin, Russian, and Spanish, as well as the study of creative writing and composition.

Recognizing that Muslims and those living in predominantly Muslim countries share a common heritage, MSA at UCSD strives to serve and represent these persons at the UCSD campus through educational, cultural, and social programs and activities. MSA at UCSD provides a social and cultural outlet for members of the Muslim community. Furthermore, recognizing that Muslims and their history, culture, and institutions are often misrepresented or dehumanized by orientalism and mainstream media sources, MSA at UCSD strives to increase the representation of Muslim perspectives at all levels of society, specifically at the university and stresses the fair and objective study of Islam through its programs and activities.

The SOC Bible Study mission shares a great deal with the CCC vision and mission. We offer a safe space for minority students to build community through fellowship and dialogue about their faith, which we feel is a need on our campus. We seek to empower students by challenging them to make an impact using their unique backgrounds just as Jesus calls each of us to do. In achieving this, we aim to develop leaders in the community. We also plan to create relationships by partnering with other organizations that have similar goals for justice and diversity to bless the larger UCSD community.

Student Promoted Access Center for Education & Services (SPACES)

The mission of the Student Promoted Access Center for Education and Service (SPACES) is to act as an empowering dynamic on campus where UCSD students collaborate to achieve greater educational equity. This encompasses equal access to higher education, undergraduate retention and graduation, and matriculation to graduate and professional schools.
SPACES values the power of student initiated action and organizing by providing an environment for student growth and development and thus is a foundation to create leadership and unity through community engagement.

SPACES shall serve as the center for student-initiated access and retention projects at the university. Student Initiated Access Programs and Services (SIAPS) shall exist as the “access” component to SPACES. The Academic Success Program (ASP) shall exist as the “retention” component to SPACES
