The Cross-Cultural Center Diversity Peer Educators (DPEs) are student interns that facilitate trainings and workshops for students, staff, faculty and the community. DPEs and Cross-Cultural Center professional staff are available to assist groups and organizations with facilitated dialogues on a variety of topics including social justice, diversity, communication, teamwork and leadership development. We are available for campus, K-12 and other community group presentations.

Communication
Styles
Ever wonder why you work better with some folks more than others? Or why a
decision was so difficult to come to in your organization? This workshop
helps groups understand different working styles and the different ways
people communicate. Learning about communication styles is an excellent and
exciting process to learn more about the group you’re working with!
Connect the Dots
In a diverse world we are surrounded by people of different identities who
come from different backgrounds. This workshop helps in understanding
intersections of identities in relation to your organization and helps to
realize our differences, similarities and illustrates the beauty of our
diversity.
Walk the Line
This workshop is designed to help people understand inequalities in our
society. Though a series of questions, participants will be prompted to
“walk the line” of privilege and oppression.
What Would You Do?
Though a series of scenarios participants are taught to challenge everyday
bigotry and learn to speak up when the time is right.
Self-Reflection/Leadership Workshop
Part of being a leader begins with self-awareness because we must understand
the sorts of experiences we bring to the table as well as how that will
influence the work we do. This workshop engages participants in
self-reflection to help understand how to be an effective and influential
leader.
Being an Ally
Everyone can be an ally to others. This workshop explores ways to interrupt
oppressive behavior and actively support social justice in learning how to
be an ally to others.
Films and Discussions
Using films to explore social justice issues is an excellent way to create
dialogue and learning. We can help facilitate this process for your group.
